05 / Good questions
Before yousplit.
A few things worth knowing before your first experiment.
Do I need to rebuild my pages?
No. Add the destination URLs you already use, choose their traffic weights, and share your Splitstack link. Your pages stay on their existing websites.
How does traffic splitting work?
New visitors are randomly assigned a destination using the weights you set. You can test two to ten destinations. Repeat visitors keep their assignment for 30 days in the same browser, while the browser identifier and assignment remain available.
How do I track conversions and revenue?
Add the Splitstack tracking snippet to your destination pages and send conversion events at the actions you want to measure. Include a value with those events to compare revenue alongside visitors and conversions.
Will my campaign parameters stay intact?
Yes. The redirect passes through your campaign query parameters, so tags such as your UTM values can reach the destination page.
What happens when I reach my free limit?
The Free plan includes three split tests and 3,000 new tracked visitor assignments per calendar month in UTC. After the traffic limit, new visitors still reach the first destination, but new visits are not tracked or split. Existing valid assignments can still record conversions. The monthly allowance resets at the start of the next month.
Can I try it before creating an account?
Yes. Explore the demo to try the dashboard, experiment editor, groups, and analytics with sample data. Demo changes stay in your browser tab and do not route real traffic.
